Couple killed over karo-kari

SANGHAR, Oct 29: A man and woman were killed on the pretext of karo-kari near Mian Pir Mohammad village in the Perumal area late Thursday night.

Villager Mohammad Yousuf Kundhani surrendered at the Perumal police station and confessed that he had killed his sister Marvi and a man, Rafiq Mughal, as he saw them in compromising position in cotton field near the village.

According to villagers, Marvi, mother of three, had eloped with Rafiq last year but was recovered by police and handed over to her husband Abdullah Kundhani.

On Thursday night, Rafiq had come to the village meet her and both were put to death by relatives of Marvi. A hatchet and firearms were used in the crime.

Aziz Ahmed Kundhani, a relative of the deceased woman, has lodged an FIR against Mohammad Yousuf.

ACCIDENT:
A man, Abdullah Khokhar, who was critically injured when a tractor hit his motorcycle about one week ago on Khipro road, died in a hospital on Friday.
