LAHORE: PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif has reiterated his proposal for evolving a unanimous 25-year national agenda, claiming it would go a long way in steering the country out of prevalent crisis.

Talking to media persons at SAFMA office here on Thursday, he said national reconciliation policy was the need of the hour to tackle the challenges facing the country.

He said the unanimous strategy to be called ‘Pakistan Charter’ (Meesaq-e-Pakistan) would be for the betterment of the nation and everyone should contribute towards it.

Explaining his vision about the proposed strategy, he said, “We want Pakistan Charter as per constitution of the country to ensure that no institution is given preference over the other and all institutions perform their functions within their limits.”

He said all stake-holders would be included in the Pakistan Charter, ensuring full respect to the sovereignty of the parliament and supremacy of the constitution.

The PML-N chief said, “All people including judges, politicians, generals and lawyers have to sit together to lead our country out of difficulties it is facing today.”

He said after consensus on the Pakistan Charter, those violating it would be subjected to accountability.—Agencies
